Plain-language summary: the app is a diagnostic aid, not a mechanic. Use the information as a starting point, drive safely, and have a professional confirm before doing repairs.

Acceptance

By using the I'm Hero OBD2 Scanner app or this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them.

What the app is for

The app reads standard OBD-II data from your vehicle and presents it, including trouble-code descriptions and AI-generated explanations. This information is provided for general, educational purposes and is not professional advice or a guaranteed diagnosis. A trouble code indicates a symptom, not a specific broken part.

Safety & responsible use

Compatibility

The app works with standard ELM327 OBD-II adapters. We don't manufacture adapters and aren't responsible for third-party hardware. Some vehicles support only a subset of OBD-II parameters.

No warranty

The app, website, and AI explanations are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage to your vehicle, costs, or losses arising from use of the app, website, or reliance on the information they provide. You use them at your own risk.

Intellectual property

The app, website, name, and logo are owned by iamhero.dev. OBD-II, ELM327 and vehicle brand names are the property of their respective owners; we are not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the latest version.
